The book reflects on how we all live in our daily lives, what we are focusing on what we let pass us by, our interactions / relationships with others and ourselves. So, lets begin;
Don’t Take Yourself for Granted
During your life, you likely have a goal you are trying to achieve. You are chasing a dream, to the ends of the earths, but during all of this, you are not stopping to appreciate where you are at this moment in time. While you moving forward, it is easy to forget about what else is going on. You get caught up in the moment and can fall in love with the process, even to the level that you love it more than those around you. In order to avoid this happening, you need to remember to reflect inward, meditate, focus on where you are now and where you came from prior to this.
We do not take a minute to think about we live. You get up and go to work, come home, cook your dinner, go to bed. Rinse and repeat, Monday through to Friday. This is then having an impact on your mental and physical health at extremes you haven’t even realised! We are effectively amateurs and inexperienced when it comes to thinking about how we do things. If you don’t begin early in life, thinking about what you do and why, by the time that you want to change your process, it will be too late.
Taking Back Control
Have you ever noticed that when you are trying to do just about anything in your life, your brain is just off on its own doing its own thing. This is something you need to start reclaiming, you are in control of your brain and your body, not the other way around. You need to begin imposing your will over your brain, it is going to be an ongoing fight and something that you will lose on a few occasions, but being able to focus on what you are working on, will turn what used to be 10 hours work, into 5! You need to work on 3 things in particular;
As we are a result of our thoughts, we need to cultivate our beings to what we want, as opposed to being a victim of our beliefs. Due to this, we need to be aware that any part of the growth in our life, will be 90% unconscious and 10% conscious. If you put in an effort to change, you will change.
First of all, you know who you are and only you can be certain of who you are and what you believe. When you have something after going wrong on you, it is not someone else’s fault, as no one can make you what you aren’t. It is best in life, to not blame anyone else when something goes wrong for you. Try to better understand any and all of your actions in life and after this, then you are able to make more informed decisions about your life in general.
When you are trying to do something in life, it is better for you to avoid things that you know are not good enough for you or things that you are not good for. We are not able to do all things, so it is better to just not try. Avoid silly arguments that don’t serve a purpose and you need to know why you are disagreeing. We care too much about other people in our life and are concerned about what they are thinking or their opinions of us, due to this, you need to begin focusing on yourself more.
Have an Interest
In your life, it is easy to forget that you need a passion. You need to know what suits you best, what you enjoy and what you want to do. You need to continue learning about yourself and while work on reflection isn’t pretty, it is necessary for a successful life. As things in your life will never be perfect, you need to take action now and not wait around for the ‘best’ time to succeed. Each morning, you need to be mentally prepared for the day ahead, if you need to take the time to do that the night before, then do that. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.
Every mini-victory you have needs to be celebrated, if you don’t stop to take stock of your wins, then they will just pass you by. While also being aware of any failures that have happened in your life previously so that they don’t happen again. This is key to avoiding the same mistakes time after time.
In order to improve in your life, it takes time and requires you to become inward looking and aware of whom you are. This is not easy work, but it is worthwhile.
Until next time 🙂
