What I Want to Learn

Hi!

Over the last couple of years, I have always had a few things that I wanted to learn, but never took the time to actually learn those things. But over this quarantine, I have been thinking more and more about what things I would like to improve on / learn for the first time. But what are these things and how much work will they require for me to learn them (Not perfect them, because by god, I will not be able to perfect some of them!)

Probation Periods! Good / Bad?

Since I finished college 12 months ago, I have had two ‘proper’ jobs. I put proper in brackets because according to some people your employment in life only begins after college when you have a qualification. Which I whole-heartedly disagree with, but that’s an argument for another day. I have worked for one of the biggest banks in the world and a financial services firm that is on 3 continents. Living with a Chronic Illness!

Hi!

I was in work last week and we were chatting about sick days and how some people were saying that they haven’t taken one in 18 months others said they took 3 in December for colds. I have never taken a sick day from work ever, that will eventually change, but due to having a chronic illness, I can’t afford to take a sick day for being hungover, having a cold, or other types of ‘basic’ illnesses. The reason for this is, there will be a day when I haven’t been able to sleep properly and I wake up not having the energy to move and / or not being able to function for 24 hours and the travel into work terrifies me.
